Police in Nottingham target city kerb crawlers

Fifteen men have been caught kerb crawling by an undercover policewoman in a two-night operation in Nottingham.

The officer worked with Nottingham's on-street prostitution team over the bank holiday weekend in the city's Arboretum area.

Sgt Neil Radford from Nottinghamshire Police said the men's behaviour was "totally unacceptable".

The on-street prostitution team is made up of police and community protection officers.

"These men all stopped our officer and asked for sex with no knowledge as to why she was there," said Sgt Radford.

"Our officer could have been any local resident walking home along the street.

"This behaviour can be distressing for women and is totally unacceptable."
