Northampton's cycle hire scheme apes London's 'Boris Bikes'

A bicycle hire scheme has begun in Northampton.

Fifty cycles are available at racks across the town and cost £1 an hour to hire.

Northamptonshire County Council has put £150,000 into the scheme, which is being run by Hourbike.

Meanwhile, the train operator Abellio Greater Anglia has launched a similar bike hire scheme at railway stations in Ely, Chelmsford and Ipswich.
