Wellingborough disused hotel fire: Man bailed after Steven Chennell death

A man, arrested on suspicion of murdering a rough-sleeper who died after a fire at a disused hotel, has been bailed.

Northamptonshire Police said Steven Chennell, 48, was found injured in the building on Midland Road, Wellingborough on Tuesday night.

He was taken to Kettering General Hospital, but later died.

A 36-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been bailed by the police until 1 May.

Officers have appealed for anyone who saw people in or around the building up to 24 hours before the blaze to contact them.

The fire, which began at about 21:00 GMT on Tuesday, was put out about an hour later by fire crews.
