Solway Foods staff in Corby vote to strike

Solway Foods, Corby About 900 people are employed at Solway Foods in Corby

Staff at one of Corby's largest employers have voted to strike in a row over pay and working practices.

Solway Foods employs about 900 people in the town and about 500 are members of the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU).

The union said 59% of members voted, with 91% in favour of the strike action.

Solway Foods said it would "continue to seek to resolve these issues in the coming weeks".

The company is part of the 2 Sisters Food Group, which owns brands including Fox's Biscuits and Goodfella's Pizza.

Details of the strike are not yet known.
