Northamptonshire County Council: £128m budget cut proposed

11 December 2013 Last updated at 13:43 GMT

Northamptonshire County Council has revealed plans to save £128m over the next five years.

But the Conservative-controlled council has pledged an extra £12m for its children's services - previously criticised as inadequate by Ofsted.

The proposals, which will be put out to a 12-week public consultation, come on top of savings of £177m made since 2011.
