WW2 explosives in Kettering found to be safe, police say

Bomb disposal unit The Royal Logistic Corps sent its bomb disposal unit to Highfield Road

A street has been reopened and people allowed back to their homes after an explosives alert in Northamptonshire.

Experts were called in to examine a "number of World War Two devices" found at a house in Highfield Road, Kettering, earlier.

Two homes were evacuated and a cordon set up as a precaution while the items were inspected.

A police spokesman said the devices had previously been decommissioned and no arrests were made.
