Northamptonshire fire strike: 999 call response warning

Firefighters in Northamptonshire will not respond to automatic alarms at commercial or non-domestic premises during a four-hour strike next week.

The strike called by the Fire Brigades Union will take place between 12:00 BST and 16:00 BST on 25 September.

Crews will attend only confirmed property fires and incidents in which there may be a risk to life.

A fire service spokesman said it was trying to free up resources for genuine emergencies.
