A cyclist who died when he was involved in a crash with a car in Northampton has been named by police.

Tony Pickering, 52, of Gayhurst Close, Moulton, died after being hit by a people carrier on Boughton Lane at 06:25 GMT on Tuesday.

A 39-year-old Northampton man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
