Contractors found for £58m Northampton housing scheme
A £58m scheme to improve 6,200 council homes in Northampton has moved a step forward with the appointment of contractors to carry out the work.
Northampton Borough Council has given Kier Services Ltd and Mears Ltd £16.6m each, while Lovell Partnership has been handed a £25m slice of the work.
The aim is by March 2015 all council homes in Northampton will meet the Decent Homes Standard (DHS).
This means the homes must have modern facilities and thermal comfort.
