Northamptonshire gritting lorries out as more snow falls
Snow hit several areas of Northamptonshire, including Northampton town centre
Gritters have been out in Northamptonshire as snow continues to fall across the county.
Northamptonshire County Council said snow was expected to fall overnight but it was anticipated it would become lighter and more patchy.
But a spokesman added: "However road surface temperatures are expected to drop below freezing, leading to a risk of ice."
Drivers are being reminded to take care while driving in icy conditions.
Some parts of the county have been put on an amber alert to "be prepared" as up to 10cm (4in) of snow could settle.
