Boost of £3.7m for Northamptonshire road repairs

A £3.7m fund has been provided by the government for road repairs in Northamptonshire.

The money awarded to the county council for maintenance over the next two years is on top of the £16m the authority spends on highways repairs each year.

The government has made £2.4m available in 2013-14 with a further £1.3m on offer for the financial year 2014-15.

The money is part of government investment aimed at helping councils to fund the maintenance of roads.
