Six flood warnings remain in place in Northamptonshire as more rain is expected this weekend.

Peter Riley, from the Environment Agency, said it was preparing for problems the continuing rain may bring.

Billing Aquadrome caravan park said the site was too sodden to allow people who left there on Thursday to return to collect their property.

Sunday's racing at Towcester Racecourse has been cancelled due to a waterlogged course.

Most of the 1,000 people who had to leave the Aquadrome returned to their homes, but about 60 people had nowhere else to go and were put up at the Lings Forum leisure centre in Northampton.

The aquadrome is one of six areas of the county still covered by flood warnings from the Environment Agency.

Others remain in force for several stretches of the River Nene.
