Wellingborough people asked for views on council cuts

Residents of one Northamptonshire town will have the chance to have their say on £750,000 of proposed cuts to their council's budget.

Officers from Wellingborough Council will be at the town's Swansgate centre on Saturday to explain the plans and gauge the public's opinions.

The shortlist of cuts includes increasing charges at Glamis Hall day care centre and a council management restructure.

The new budget will be agreed in March.

Councillors will be in the centre on Saturday morning between 10:00 GMT and 14:00 GMT.

Once all the responses have been collated, they will be discussed at a committee on 22 February before a meeting of the full council approves the final budget on 1 March.
