Corby principal knighted for services to education

A principal from Corby has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Peter Simpson, who is currently the executive principal of Brooke Weston Partnership, was made a knight for services to education.

He has worked at Brooke Weston College since 1992 and was appointed an OBE in 2006.

Ian Michael Pryce, principal of Bedford College, was appointed a CBE for services to further education.

Dr John William Bond, scientific support manager for Northamptonshire Police, was appointed an OBE for services to forensic science and to the police.

Five people in the county were appointed MBEs:

Jason Coeur-De-Lion, IT officer, customer operations, from Northampton for services to HM Revenue and Customs

Christopher Rufus Jones, national president of the Farm Crisis Network for services to agriculture.

Northamptonshire born Radio 2 Presenter, Bob Harris, for services to music broadcasting.

Dr John Gwilt from Roade for services to the community.

BBC Northampton presenter, Jona Kotnis, for services to community relations.
