Lorry driver killed in M1 crash near Watford Gap

A lorry driver has been killed in an accident on the M1 in Northamptonshire.

The four-vehicle crash, involving two lorries, a National Express coach and a van, happened just north of the Watford Gap services at about 1400 BST.

A large object, thought to be a mobile office, toppled off one lorry on to the other, killing the driver.

The carriageway was closed for about five hours after the accident. Police are appealing for witnesses.
