Northampton high school re-opens as academy
A former high school in Northampton which had been on special measure has opened as an academy.
The former Unity College in Northampton has been renamed the Malcolm Arnold Academy
Nine hundred students have now started the autumn term at the Malcolm Arnold Academy in Trinity Avenue.
It was formerly Unity College but is now run by the David Ross Foundation, set up by the multi-millionaire founder of the Carphone Warehouse.
Principal Phillip Cantwell said he was looking forward to the challenge of making the school work.
The academy is named after the Northampton-born composer, who died in 2006.
