Three people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following the death of a man near the railway station in Norwich.
A 39-year-old man was found unconscious on Prince of Wales Road at the corner of Riverside Road, at 05:00 BST.
Officers tried to resuscitate the man, from the Norwich area, but he died at the scene, police said.
Two men and a woman, arrested on suspicion of the supply of a controlled drug, have been released on bail.
A post-mortem examination is due to be held on Monday and the death remains unexplained, police said.
Norfolk Police referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission because of recent contact with the deceased man.
This is in accordance with standard procedure, a police spokesman said.
