Scout master Barry Warren admits gross indecency

Barry Warren Barry Warren "misused his position of trust", said Norfolk Police

A 74-year-old former scout master has pleaded guilty to two historical counts of gross indecency against boys under the age of 13.

Barry Warren, of Clifton Road, King's Lynn, abused his "unassuming victims" during trips on the Broads in the early 1990s, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Det Con Debbie Payne said Warren had "clearly misused his position of trust".

He was released on bail to be sentenced on 22 September.

Ms Payne, from the Norfolk Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: "Warren clearly misused his position of trust to take his unassuming victims on trips on the Norfolk Broads and swimming at the weekends.

"He then used these trips as an opportunity to abuse them."
