Norfolk Police probe death of Costessey man after 14-hour stand-off

An investigation is under way after a man in his 40s died following a 14-hour stand-off with police in Norfolk.

Officers were called to Quarry Road in Costessey on Thursday morning after a man was reportedly threatening to harm himself.

Police negotiators were in talks with the man during the day but when police broke into the property at 20:00 BST they found the man fatally injured.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed.

Norfolk Police is also investigating the circumstances of the death. Nobody else was in the property at the time.
