Freddy the tortoise home after eight-month walkabout

11 April 2014 Last updated at 17:15 BST

A pet tortoise which disappeared while his owners were on holiday has returned - eight months after going on a walkabout.

Freddy, who is 15 years old, belongs to the Goddard family and disappeared when he was being kept by friends in Wacton.

Donna Goddard said they thought he might have been stolen - or "gone for a little walk" - when they returned home last August.

"In fact it was a big walk - for seven or eight months," she said. He had moved into a neighbouring garden in Wacton.
