A drink-driver involved a car crash in Norwich city centre which left a taxi driver injured has admitted a series of driving offences.

James Berryman, 21, was driving a VW Golf when it crashed on Prince of Wales Road on 1 March, Norwich magistrates heard.

Berryman, of St Andrew's Close, Old Buckenham, Norfolk, pleaded guilty to five driving offences.

He was sent to Norwich Crown Court to be sentenced at a later date.

Berryman admitted aggravated vehicle-taking, drink-driving, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a valid licence.

A sixth charge of failing to stop a vehicle when required to by a police officer was withdrawn.

The taxi driver, who was sitting in his car at the time of the collision, suffered minor injuries.
