Eight appear at Norwich magistrates on child sex charges

Four men and four women have appeared before Norwich magistrates charged with sexual offences against five children aged under 13.

The defendants, who cannot be named for legal reasons, range in age from 31 to 63 and are from Norwich and Romford.

The charges relate to 76 offences alleged to have taken place between 2004 and 2010 in Norwich and Romford.

The defendants were bailed and will next appear at Norwich Crown Court on 27 February.

The alleged offences include rape, sexual assault, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and assault.
