Gorleston man 'critical' after presumed assault

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being discovered by Norfolk Police with serious injuries.

Officers were called to a house in Springfield Road, Gorleston-on-Sea at 02:30 GMT and said they found the man with "serious injuries to his head".

They believe the 45-year-old was assaulted and are continuing to investigate the circumstances.

Police have sealed off the house and the man is being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Norfolk Police said they would run extra patrols in the area "to offer reassurance to local residents".
