Tidal surge: Doubts over future of sea defences

Parts of the coastline in Norfolk and Suffolk may have to be sacrificed to the sea, the Environment Agency has warned.

Following the damage by last month's tidal surge, the agency is weighing up how cost-effective it would to rebuild all of the sea defences in the two counties.

Some world-renowned wildlife habitats may go, but the agency says whatever happens, property will be protected.
