6 September 2013 Last updated at 14:46 BST

The first free sixth form in the country to focus entirely on teaching maths and science has been officially opened.

The Sir Isaac Newton School in Norwich was opened by Education Minister Elizabeth Truss, a Norfolk MP, who said free schools allowed parents and students to get the education they wanted where they live.

Seventy students have signed up to the school which says it is responding to a growing demand for students to have a thorough grounding in the subjects.
