A barn fire involving 2,000 bales of straw is expected to burn for the rest of the week.

About 50 firefighters have been at Hellington Corner, just off the A146 between Norwich and Loddon.

The fire at Cherry Dene Farm started at about 11:20 BST and it could be seen from space.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Roy Harold, said: "It's a large, but simple fire, with a lot of straw going up and this could burn for a few days now."

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service sent vehicles from nine fire stations, including a high volume pump from Thetford which can extract water from sources using a mile-long hose.

Mr Harold said it was a "long-term commitment".

"We're protecting the surrounding barns to make sure the fire doesn't spread and we've made sure there are no hazardous or dangerous chemicals involved," he said.
