Mile Cross Phoenix Centre: Norwich boys face arson trial

Phoenix Children's Project Centre The Phoenix Centre was empty at the time of the fire

Two teenagers are to stand trial for arson after a charitable centre for children was severely damaged by fire.

Firefighters were called to The Phoenix Children's Project Centre in Mile Cross, Norwich, at about 22:00 GMT on 15 December.

The fire service said "extensive damage" was caused to the property.

The 15-year-old boys, from Norwich, were represented at Norwich Youth Court on Thursday. Released on conditional bail, they will stand trial in June.

The property, refurbished after volunteers helped raise £500,000 to buy it in 2006, was empty at the time of the fire.
