Council leader Keith Johnson and wife funeral: Hundreds attend
About 600 mourners attended the joint funeral of a North Norfolk District Council leader and the wife he is suspected of shooting.
Police believe Keith Johnson, 58, killed his wife Andrea, 44, outside their home at Compit Hills, in Cromer, before turning the gun on himself.
Mr and Mrs Johnson were being buried next to one another after the service at the parish church in the town.
The couple had been together for 18 years and married in 2004.
Mrs Johnson's parents, John and Janice Chadwick, have said they feel "no animosity" towards Mr Johnson.
Mr Johnson was found with the shotgun by his side and is thought to have made a telephone call to friends before taking his own life on 2 December.
Speaking before the service, Cromer Canon the Rev Dr David Court said: "I'm full of admiration for both sets of families.
"I don't actually think it was a difficult decision for them (to have a joint funeral). They wanted to celebrate the 18-and-a-half years that Keith and Andrea had together.
"It would've been so easy, I think, to let bitterness creep in but they've not done that. They want to celebrate all of the good things."
He said the community had "struggled to make sense" of the "awfulness" of the deaths.
