EDL and We Are Norwich protests: Three charged by police

Three men arrested during an English Defence League march and counter-protest in Norwich have been charged, and another man has been cautioned.

A 22-year-old from Norwich was charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

A 45-year-old from Milton Keynes and a 28-year-old from Norwich were charged with using threatening words or behaviour.

All three were bailed to appear before magistrates in Norwich later this month.

A fourth man, from Telford, Shropshire, arrested on suspicion of assault was cautioned for a public order offence.

About 200 EDL supporters and up to 2,000 supporters of the We Are Norwich coalition staged opposing demonstrations in the city on Saturday.
