Sheringham Shoal £1bn windfarm begins operating
The Sheringham Shoal windfarm, built at a cost of £1bn, has opened off the North Norfolk coast.
Each of the 88 turbines is three times the height of Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square in London. Construction of the windfarm involved pioneering techniques and took three years.
