Business Secretary Vince Cable has met with the Malaysian owners of Norfolk company Group Lotus at the opening of its prestige store in London.

The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) said Dr Cable welcomed the opportunity to meet representatives of DRB-Hicom at the Regent Street shop.

The firm bought the Hethel-based car maker earlier this year.

Dr Cable said he welcomed DRB-Hicom's "continued commitment to the future of Lotus in Norfolk".

In June this year the Group Lotus board dismissed its chief executive Dany Bahar after an investigation into a complaint against him by DRB-Hicom.

Mr Bahar joined Lotus in September 2009 and helped the company to win £10.7m from the government's Regional Growth Fund.
