A manufacturing site that employs 260 people in Norfolk has been sold to a German investment firm.

Multinational crop chemicals firm Bayer CropScience announced it was planning to sell the 114-acre site on Sweet Briar Road, Norwich, in April last year.

Now a deal has been agreed with Munich-based Aurelius.

Andrew Orme, UK managing director of Bayer CropScience, said the sale "safeguards" the site's future.

The company said the sale was part of an "ongoing global consolidation". The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Donatus Albrecht, of Aurelius, said: "Specialty chemicals are one of our main priorities.

"The site in Norwich is in outstanding technical condition and a leader in its field. We believe that it has great potential for the future."
