Royal Norfolk Show organisers have apologised to people who had trouble getting into this year's show.

The high number of people attending the show in June resulted in large queues forming outside car parks with some people giving up and heading home.

A crash which closed part of the A47 around Norwich on the opening morning created further problems.

Organisers said research into coping with traffic was under way in a bid to avoid a similar situation in 2012.

Official figures show around 99,000 people attended the two-day agricultural event at the Norfolk Showground in Costessey, up from 93,500 people in 2010.
