Man dies as car hits embankment on M57 in Merseyside

A 33-year-old man was killed when his car left a motorway and crashed on an embankment.
The crash happened between junctions one and two of the M57 at Huyton, Merseyside, at about 06:15 BST.
A front seat passenger, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Next of kin have been informed, Merseyside Police said.
The southbound carriageway was closed for more than five hours following the crash.
