Liverpool shooting: Man shot by police in raid arrested

A man who was shot in the chest by armed police in Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and unlawful imprisonment.

The 47-year-old suspect was shot at a house on Shellingford Road in Dovecot on 22 May.

Police raided the house after witnesses reported seeing a man hold a knife to a woman's throat.

Police said the arrested man was still in hospital and would be taken into custody when he was discharged.

He is also being held on suspicion of assault and possession of an imitation firearm.

The shooting is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
