A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a man found unconscious with stab wounds in a Merseyside street.
Anthony Duffy, 33, of Kirkby, died in hospital after being found in Melling Avenue, Aintree at about midnight on Tuesday.
Police believe he was in the street to meet "a number of people" and was stabbed during "a dispute".
The 53-year-old man from Walton remains in custody.
A post-mortem examination found that Mr Duffy had died from multiple stab wounds.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said a cordon would stay in place around Melling Avenue, Greenwich Road and Wyresdale Road while "a full and comprehensive forensic examination of the location" took place.
He said the three men wanted in connection with Mr Duffy's death were all white, with one described as balding and in his 50s and the other two said to be in their late 20s.
He added that officers believed Mr Duffy had been with his partner at the time of the attack and that the three men had been seen fleeing the scene of the attack in the direction of Longmoor Lane.
Supt Mark Wiggins said "a number of witnesses" had come forward with information but police were keen to hear from anyone else "who has not yet spoken to us".
