Man found stabbed by Bootle burglary police

A man has been found with serious stab wounds by police investigating a burglary in Merseyside.

Police responding to reports of a break-in at a property on Southport Road in Bootle on Thursday said they discovered a 31-year-old man "nearby".

Merseyside Police say the man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital but cannot confirm if he was involved in the burglary.

A 66-year-old man was also taken to hospital with breathing difficulties.
