Suspended jail term for carer who stole from 100-year-old
A carer who stole a gold bracelet from a 100-year-old has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Elaine Wood, 55, of Manica Crescent, Fazakerley, was given a three-month term suspended for nine months at Sefton Magistrates' Court.
She was also given a nine-month supervision order, placed under a curfew for eight weeks and ordered to attend a women's turnaround project.
The theft happened at the centenarian's home in Aigburth in March.
Wood was not the woman's regular carer and took the bracelet during a one-off visit.
The 100-year-old noticed the bracelet was missing the next day and told her usual carer.
A spokeswomen for MerseyCare Julie Anne (MCJA) said Wood no longer worked for them.
