Liverpool attacks investigated after two men injured

Hanover Street Both men were found with injuries on Hanover Street

One man has been left with head injuries and another with knife wounds in two separate assaults in Liverpool.

Two men were arrested after a man was found collapsed with head injuries in Hanover Street at about 01:30 BST.

A second 21-year-old man went to officers on Hanover Street at about 05:30 with slashes to his arm and chest after an attack near Concert Square.

Merseyside Police said there was "no known link" between the attacks. Both men are being treated in hospital.

A spokesman for the force asked any witnesses to either attack to come forward.
