Liverpool man held over Barclays Bank and Lloyds TSB robberies

A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the armed robberies of two banks in Liverpool, which took place on consecutive days.

Barclays Bank in Mill Lane, West Derby was raided on Thursday, then Lloyds TSB in West Derby Road in the nearby Tuebrook area was targeted on Friday.

The man, from Toxteth in Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery.

He was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning.
