Murder arrest over 'unexplained death' in Southport

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the "unexplained" death of another woman in Southport.

Police found the body of the woman, who has not been named but was in her 50s, at a property on Guildford Road at about 10:00 GMT.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.

Police said the victim had been identified and next of kin were being informed. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
