A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found at a house in Liverpool.

Paul Thorbjornsen, 46, was found dead at the house in Dalemeadow Road, Knotty Ash, on 21 December after a man told police he believed his friend had died.

A post-mortem examination failed to establish how Mr Thorbjornsen died.

John Penlington, 52, of Strathmore Road, Tuebrook, was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 7 January for a preliminary hearing.
