A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank at gunpoint in Liverpool.

A branch of Barclays bank in Breck Road, Liverpool, was held up just after 11:50 BST on Friday.

Merseyside Police said the raider entered the bank and threatened staff with a gun before fleeing with cash in the direction of Belmont Road.

The staff members inside the bank were unhurt but have been left distressed by their ordeal, police said.
