A Liverpool man has been jailed for life for stabbing a man to death in his home.

Kevin Jones, 33, of Brainerd Street, Tuebrook, murdered 48-year-old Karl Patrick O'Hara from Everton on 3 March.

Jones denied murder but a jury at Liverpool Crown Court found him guilty unanimously.

Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Clement Goldstone, QC ordered him to serve a minimum of 22 years.

Det Sgt Steve Reardon said: "Mr O'Hara was a family man, loved by his children and was also well known and well liked in his local area of Everton.

"He suffered multiple wounds at the hands of Jones and certainly did not deserve to die in this way.

"While today's sentence cannot bring Karl back or undo the hurt caused by Jones, I hope it brings the victim's family some closure and some sense of justice."
