A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a man on Merseyside.

Mark Reissing, 48, from Wallasey, died of multiple injuries on Egremont Promenade in New Brighton on 9 July.

The 46-year-old from Wallasey was arrested following an appeal by police for information.

A 25-year-old Wallasey woman and a 30-year-old Liverpool man have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The arrests follow the bailing of a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder on the day of Mr Reissing's death.
