Patient found dead in hospital grounds not suspicious

The death of a man who was found in the grounds of a Liverpool hospital is not suspicious, police said.

The 80-year-old man was a patient at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital but was reported missing at about 19:30 GMT on Wednesday.

He was found dead in the hospital grounds at 02:45 on Thursday.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the force was no longer investigating his death.

The case has been passed to the coroner.
