Doctor attacked in Liverpool: Teenage boy arrested

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested by police investigating a robbery in which a Liverpool doctor was attacked.

Dr Srinivas Rao Dharmana was approached by a group of five people as he closed the GP practice in Queens Drive, Walton, last Wednesday evening.

He had his Rolex watch and black Audi TT car stolen before the car was driven into him. He was also stabbed twice.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of robbery but has since been released on bail.

Dr Dharmana was taken to hospital after the attack to be treated for a cut to his face.

He said when he was stabbed in the abdomen, the knife did not cut through his thick coat.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Merseyside Police.
