Woman hurt in taxi window 'jump' in Liverpool

A woman is seriously ill after apparently jumping out of a taxi window in Liverpool.

Police said the 23-year-old had taken the black Hackney cab from Wirral to Liverpool when the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday.

As the taxi travelled through the Kingsway tunnel, officers believe she lowered the window of the taxi and leaned out.

When the taxi reached Kirkdale Road, it is thought she jumped from the window.

She was taken to hospital where she is said to be in a serious condition.

Anyone with information about the incident, which took place at about 01:15 GMT, is urged to contact police.
