Liverpool Tapestry goes on display at St George's Hall
The tapestry is made up of 338 individual panels
A hand-stitched tapestry made to celebrate Liverpool's year as Capital of Culture in 2008 is to go on permanent display at St George's Hall.
The Liverpool Tapestry: People, Places and Passions, is made from 338 panels, hand-stitched by more than 150 people.
The resulting triptych took four years to make and spans over 6m (19ft).
Gill Roberts, from the Merseyside Embroiderers' Guild, said: "I know people will be impressed by the hard work that went into it."
"Over the course of 25 workshops, we worked with people of all ages from across the city, who each brought their own inspiration and unique ideas to the project," she said.
The triptych features iconic images including Superlambananas and the city's historic buildings.
