Detectives are investigating after a body was washed up on a beach in Merseyside.
A passerby alerted officers after spotting the body on West Kirby beach at 10:30 GMT.
Police said it was brought on to the beach by the tide and the person had been dead for some time. They are treating the death as unexplained.
A cordon has been set up at the scene as police try to establish the identity of the body and where it came from.
